Welcome to “Meet the Squad” where you get a behind-the-scenes look at the team that brings the most realistic tactical laser tag experience to life. We’re proud to have a dedicated team of experts behind the support we offer, technology we develop and equipment we engineer.

Speaking of “engineer”, let us introduce Ike Ireland. For over a year, Ike has served as our in-house Embedded Software Engineer, meaning he’s the guy that makes the technology in every piece of iCOMBAT Equipment work the way it’s supposed to.

Playability is incredibly important to the team at iCOMBAT Equipment. Ike knows that his technology is used every day around the world. Whether it’s players on a laser tag field or first responders going through tactical training, the equipment has to work. Ike’s proud to be a part of an industry and a team, that provides a fun escape for laser tag players and necessary preparedness for groups on the front lines.

One of the most challenging parts of Ike’s role is that he doesn’t just develop technology for new product lines, he has to ensure that every update also works seamlessly for the gear already out on the field. With the upcoming launch of iCOMBAT Chicago, our newest B2C laser tag facility, Ike and his team had to push themselves, and our gear, to cover a significantly larger field. Ensuring that the radios within our equipment could communicate cleanly across more than 20,000 sq. feet of laser tag battlefield was no small feat.

No matter the challenge, Ike puts the customer’s experience first. It’s innovation and creative problem-solving, like what Ike brings to the table, that helps us deliver products we can stand behind.
