iCOMBAT Gear Used at Urban Shield 2013

Urban Shield, a planned training exercise taking place in the San Francisco bay area October 25 through 28, will use iCOMBAT equipment for a portion of the training. This massive training event brings in local, national, and international police teams for a full 48-hour exercise that utilizes the National Incident Management System and Standardized Emergency Management System.

Teams are prepared for major emergencies and threats. First responders, tactical teams, and trainers all work together for each of the 8 exercises, which include active shooters and WMD detection.

The iCOMBAT projectile-less training system is being used in a number of the exercises, keeping costs low and compromises null. Teams will use the equipment and provide feedback for it after each exercise. The gear is very realistic and will allow complete training in any environment without the need for safety gear.

“We are proud to have our systems in use by the best police forces in the world, at such a prestigious event,” explained iCOMBAT President Rick Jensen.

The goal of the event is for teams to leave with a better understanding of a course of action during a crisis. Observers from around the world also attend to take notes and bring back critical training information to their own teams.
