Classified YYC Expands with the New Lockdown Arena
Since opening their Calgary (YYC) location, Classified has continued to invest in giving players new reasons to come back. From expanding into Edmonton (YEG) to continually evolving their gameplay experience, the team has focused on building immersive tactical arenas that keep every visit feeling fresh.
Their latest addition, Lockdown, delivers an entirely new style of tactical gameplay alongside their original Abandoned District arena. With a unique theme, close quarters combat, and mission based action, Lockdown is another step forward in Classified's vision of creating memorable experiences that players can't find anywhere else.
We caught up with the Classified team to learn more about their newest arena.
When did Lockdown open?
"Lockdown Arena officially opened in FEBRUARY 2026 at our Calgary (YYC) location. It is our newest arena and was designed to give players a completely different experience from our original Abandoned District arena. Every new arena we build is intended to offer a unique environment, encouraging players to come back and experience something new each time they visit."
What’s the size of the new arena?
"Lockdown Arena is approximately 3000 Sq. feet and is designed for fast paced, close quarters tactical gameplay. The layout features multiple pathways, tight corridors, strategic choke points, and mission based objectives that challenge players to communicate, adapt, and work together."
What is the theme?
"Lockdown is themed as a high security prison and features security towers and a prison shower room. From prison cells and security checkpoints to narrow hallways and control rooms, the arena creates an immersive atmosphere that makes players feel like they're part of a real tactical operation. Every detail was designed to enhance realism and provide a unique gameplay experience."
What do players love most about Lockdown?
"Players consistently tell us they love the realism, intensity, and tactical nature of Lockdown. The tighter layout creates constant action, making teamwork and communication more important than ever. Many players also appreciate that it offers a completely different experience from our Abandoned District arena, giving them two distinct styles of gameplay under one roof.
One of the biggest compliments we receive is that no two arenas feel the same. That's exactly what we're aiming for. As we continue to grow, our vision is to build multiple themed arenas across Canada, each with its own identity, challenges, and story. We don't just want players to visit one Classified location, we want them to travel and experience every arena we create because each one offers something unique."
Looking Ahead
Classified has always focused on delivering experiences that keep players coming back, and Lockdown is another great example of that. By continuing to invest in unique arena designs rather than repeating the same layout, they're creating destinations that players want to experience again and again.
The iCOMBAT team is proud to be a part of Classified's continued growth and the expansion of the tactical laser tag community across Canada. Their commitment to immersive gameplay, innovative arena design, and memorable player experiences has helped build one of the strongest player bases, and we can't wait to see what they create next.
Congratulations to the entire Classified team on another outstanding addition to your Calgary location. If you're in the area, we highly recommend checking them out!
